Spyderco Merlin

It was essentially a lightweight version of the Harpy. The blade is 0.5 mm thinner and the handle is molded FRN. The early models used the Delica 1 mold with the molded integral clip, later models used the Delica 3 mold and barrel bolt clip, just as the Tasman Salt does today. They were made in G-2/GIN-1, AUS-8 and ATS-55. I've heard unsubstantiated rumors of some in VG-10, but I've never seen one in that steel.

It makes a great unobtrusive carry knife for hawkbill chores, but it has been replaced by the rustproof H-1 Tasman for the most part.

Ive got 1 I bought used with ats-55. It seems to hold an edge well for

garden use. A great knife.

Second Spyderco I ever bought. With it's factory replaced metal clip.

Great knife. I only have three of them so far. As well as two Harpys, and a Tasman Salt.

But then again, I like Spyderco Hawkbills!

We have a new meadowlark 2 in-the-works and there will be a hawkbill version.
