O.K. so earlier I asked which would be the better carry knife. I need a knife that doubles as a worker and a defender. I talked to MT and they said that thier blade is extreemly corrosion resistant with the Ti-Ni coating, and with minimal care will last forever. On the other hand I read the article on the Spyderco Mil test in Tac Knives magazine and they gave it rave reviews and said the same. Are both knives really that tough? The MT is smaller and easier to carry, but the spyderco is more knife. Someone please help.

Anyone? I'm flogging some Spyders to get some Micros and would be interested in any feedback at all on this question, thanks.

1st. I've never handled a MT
2nd. I heard this opinion on Vector from one that get the info from owner.

Vector was disappointment. The knife is wery small not to mention extremely small handle. Quality etc were of the wery first class.

Now to my opinions: if a knife is toy sized it must be toy - 500$ toy. How much useful edge you can fit in 3 inch blade with those (sexy) shapes - not wery much. Vector could be nice if the blade and handle were scaled up to 4 inch blade.

i am a MT fan. But I did own a Spydie military once and it is an awesome knife, it really is quite good, especially for the price (wow!). Personally, I think the CPM440v makes it worth the price, but you get that awesome extra big opening hole, and i like the handle too. The vector is a totally different kind of knife (it's a hawkbill for one), and it's quite expensive, I don't understand why you are putting them in the same class. Even if you were gonna get a hawkbill folder, why not the kestrel? it's cheaper (and i think nicer too). if you want a MT user about the size of a military, get a SOCOM, or the SOCOM Elite.

I think you're comparing apples and oranges. These two knives don't compete against each other. The MT is twice the price and half the size. I think I'd narrow down the contestants before taking much stock in this comparison. Take care.

Fred and Jadis are right. These two knives are total opposites.

For the Wow! factor and as a pocket knife the Vector would be OK. I have the Kestrel and enjoy carrying it in my pocket though as a defensive knife I would rather carry my Socom.

I had a Military once and to be truthful, it is an awesome knife. The 440V is excellent and the large hole makes it easy to deploy. It is a BIG knife and is all business. FOr defense this would be my choice. I think most folks would compare a AFCK from Benchmade to the Military rather than the MT.

I hope this helps.
