Hey guys im having an issue with my military. i recently just took the pivot out to clean and locktite and when i put it back in the blade started to have play when closed. it kind of feels like its hitting the blade stop and then bouncing back off of it slightly. if i move the blade in and out very softly while closed, it will go down (feels like hitting the blade stop) then i can pull it up like a milimeter or two. i hope u guys understand what im saying. Its supposed to just shut closed and the detent or whatver is suppose to keep it locked in but this one has movement. Let me know if you guys have any tips for this problem. Thanks for your time.

Most if not all of mine do have some slight wiggle when closed. The blade can be pressed down into the handle more if you try. If it bothers you, the only thing you can do is try and send it in to SPyderco, but seeing as SHOT Show is just around the corner it might take a long time for them to get to it. It's not going to impair the function of the knife whether that function is being clipped to your pocket or sitting in its box in a drawer. ;)

Did you lose a washer when you took out the pivot screw? A little detent movement is acceptable imo. As long as the knife doesn't come open by itself you should be good to go. Like Rev said, a little wiggle is also expected. All that really matters to me is that the lock up is tight and the detent keeps the blade closed. If you find it excessive by all means send it into Spyderco

Ok cool thx guys. I didn't lose a washer or anything. I actually did my camo s30v military at the same time and that one is still solid. I guess I'll just leave it. Like u said it's not that big of a deal. I'm just a little frustrated Cuz it wasn't like that before I cleaned it.
Also I got 1 more question. The pivot screw on my cf was a t10 I think, but on my digi cam one, the t10 bit is too small, I know there are different sized ones depending on the year but I was wondering if anyone had to use like a t11 or t12. I'm not even sure if they have those in that size. Thanks again

The newer pivots are T15. I just checked a couple of my militaries and one of them has the issue you've described, one does not. Never noticed before and it hasn't caused any problems for me.
