Spyderco Military deployment

My most common deployment method is the slow thumb and middle finger flick.
I don't know why, but I've never been able to do the middle finger flick to the point I'm satisfied, feels like it wants to fly out of my hand and is not as secure as a simple thumb opening - ditto for the Spydie drop.

nice video - i was never aware of the middle finger opening technique.

I use the middle finger flick about 90% of the time........Works great for me.

I find myself using the middle finger flip all too frequently...I think I'll start trying it with something... maybe a Spydie or whatever in my hand.

Thanks for all the kind words. I do find that the middle-finger flick works best with bigger knifes like the Millie and ParaMillie. For knives like the Sage, thumb flicks are the best.

I may be alone on this, but I have different opening styles with different knives depending on the type of cut I'll make. For instance, when using my Para 2, I'll middle finger flick if I want to go into the choil grip, or index flip if not. I'll thumb open if I'll be doing a pull cut. I plan on making a video to demonstrate my logic using different knives, just gotta find the time.

Edit to add: I use different opening methods for different cut styles because of the speed of transition between opening and cut style. I hope that makes sense.
