Spyderco Military Earth-Brown G-10 Handle CTS-HP Carpenter Steel blade

I pre ordered one from Roger the first or second day it was up. He said he didn't know if I'd actually get one though....

WHAT?!? WHere did this come from? Why haven't I head about this? Is it a sprint or dealer exclusive? Is there an offiicial announcement thread anywhere? WHAT!?! When is it expected to drop? WHAT?!?

I think people pulled a ninja move and kept it on the DL. I waited to post until I saw Roger lock it down.

This will look good with my Kimber Desert Warrior & SY Desert Dogfather

My payment went right through? No hold. I missed out on the Para 2 S90v this will help make up for it. :)
Oh I doubt it:p. It's hard to make up for a super steel clad in high quality carbon fiber. Though I think the Para2 in Carpenter's CTS-20CP would be nearly identical.

Silly Rabbit, Tricks are for Kids :p

In all seriousness, it was mentioned in the 2011 Catalog (I hope I spelled that right, it's been a while :o) posted by tazkristi. Good stuff and it has release dates and sprint runs for the upcoming year :)

It was in the 2011 catalog that was released several weeks ago - there's a whole page of 2011 sprints listed.

Can't wait for mine!! Preordered and paid thru Howe's. I'm a sucker for any Millie other than black.

Is the Carpenter steel better than the CPM 440V? I picked up two(in 440V) when they first came out and think the 440V is one of the best steels I have ever used.

better or not i don't know, 440v is aka S60V the new carpenter steel is their version of S90V. it will likely be more wear resistant, harder to sharpen etc, if that's better for you ... then yes. at least it is for me.

ooooops, sorry i was mistaken, you were probably refering to cts XHP then it's a different story, can't tell, i havent tried this one yet.

CTS-XHP is not much like S60V, it's more like a more stainless D2 variant (not S90V). The new Para2 with the 20CP steel is said to be similar to S90V.

I got in on Roger's list as well. I believe there was a poll sometime last year on one of these forums and remember voting for coyote so I am happy to see it happen.
