Spyderco Military Issue

I just got my knife for about 2.5 weeks now. Its very nice and I love the grip. This is my first knife over $20. I was expecting everything to be perfect in every way.

First thing I noticed was when I opened it up, it felt somewhat gritty on the slide, I still haven't tried to wash it or take it apart, hopefully it will help.

Second thing is when I flick it open, shouldn't it lock every last time? Mine doesn't sometimes it will and sometimes it wont. I hear the pop sound like its locked but its not. What could be the problem? Even my cheap knives stay locked.

Third, when it is locked, I tug on the blade back and forth with a little bit of pressure and there is a little bit of movement, is this normal or should it be rock solid?

MaMMa,if that Milie was a brand new purchase You'd better call their warranty dept. ASAP.tom.
 
The gritty action will go away but if you are haveing trouble with the lock get in touch with W and R.
My milli had slight lock movement under preasure,Sal had me send in labeled to his attn.and he got it fixed up fine.
 
Great company and they'll take care of you.

Bought one used for a friend of mine's dad, he's beat the living crap out of it and never had any problems whatsoever. Once he was cutting the straps on a palette at his shop and quickly realized that instead of nylon they were steel! Dulled the blade, but didn't cause any real damage, a quick touch-up and he was good to go.

The full sized Calypso and the Military are my two favorite Spydies, with the Wenger being the next. Great choice!

What's W and R? And I'm assuming Sal is the owner? Theres lifetime warrentee on it so I'm in no rush right now, tied up with school at the moment, Probably will get it done this weekend though.

Another thing, I bought it on Ebay and in the description it says its brand new. Would this be covered with their warrentee? Thanks for the info.
