Spyderco Military production changes?

Just received my second Mili today. Bought from a paying dealer here on BF. I also have another Mili, a Blk on Blk model that was purchased 5 years ago from a well know online dealer. The knives are the same except that my new model has a hex head pivot screw and a much thicker lanyard hole bushing, and the older one has a torx head pivot and a thinner lanyard bushing. Where there variations or changes made to the Mili like these, or did I just buy a very convincing fake. Both have identical jimping, bead blasted locking liners, same bevel on the scales. Location of the blade etchings are not the same, but I assume that's because of the dlc coating. The g10 is also identical in grain and texture. What do you guys think? Any in put from Spyderco would be awesome!

I've researched ever bit of info on Military clones today (every video, every article online, cannot find anything else to watch or read). As far as I can tell, both are 100% authentic. They must have used different pivot screws for awile and beefed up the lanyard bushing at some point (or slimmed it down). Anyone have any other info?

It's really hard to tell from those pics, but something looks fishy to me. In the first pic it looks like the thumb hole is partially blocked by the scale. Maybe that's just the angle you took the pic? The different screws and lanyard tube are concerning. I've never seen an authentic Military with hex screws. You could email Spyderco and ask, but they will likely ask you to send it in for inspection. Can you just exchange or return it to the retailer?

My newest research shows a production change involving hex pivots and the eccentric pivot, which would make my new Mili an older model than my old one. I think, its not set in stone

What I'm finding says that Spyderco switched from a hex head and went to a torx at the same time as changing to an eccentric pivot system, allowing for tighter tolerances and better pivot life. Anyone know about this?

The eccentric pivot went away years ago. It was used for a time to compensate for looser manufacturing tolerances. If I remember right, the tolerances were tightened and the eccentric pivot was discontinued before the change to S30V steel. The pivot bolt on your digicam Military looks to me like it is Torx, just smaller than that of your black model. I'm away from home, so I can't check the hardware on mine to compare, but Spyderco does rolling changes all the time. I wouldn't worry about it myself, but if it bothers you enough to tell the entire world, maybe you should box it up and send it to Spyderco for authentication.
