I finally decided to buy a new Spyderco Military. Any suggestions about the steel: ATS-34 or 440V?
Bye

I have owned several of the Militarys in 440V and was never able to get quite as fine of an edge on them as I like. I picked up a Military a few months ago in ATS34, and this one takes and holds a wicked, scary edge! Spyderco has the heat treat down on their ATS34.

If you can find one in ats34 it should be excellent choice, the 440v is excellent (I have one) but there have been complaints regarding "brittelness"
If you are not in rush then Spyderco is going to start using S30V in their Military with compression lock
This may not happen until spring 2003 though-
