I'm new so this post may be in the wrong place, but..

I just ordered a spyderco military and have not got it yet. What do you members think of the knife?

Did you get the version with the G-10 handle and s30v steel blade? Or the limited edition with carbon fiber handles and a BG-42 blade? I really want to put in an order for the BG-42 version but I've already spent to much this holiday season. :)

it says CPM S30V, black, plain blade with G10 handle. Got it fom Ebay for about $100.

I have a carbon fiber BG-42 and I love it. It will catch and cut hair above the skin and is probably the sharpest knife out of the box I've ever got. Congratulations, Christmas came early for you.

Congratulation!

It is the best Spyderco on my opinion and one of best knives overall. It is appretiated this way by many also. It is excellent for EDC, light, thin, durable, cuts very well, because of both steel and blade geometry. It also looks very good and always has premium steel and handle material. Latest one - CF+BG42 has litte steel linesr - it is even more durable, but makes it bit heavier. Manufacturing quality is excellent. It is easy to clean and comfortable in any weather and use conditions, handle is not slippery even when it is all in fish slime and blood - if you are fisher/hunter...

So this is pretty good knife you got!

Thanks, Vassili.

Welcome to Bladeforums! You're in the right place, but ...

If you go to our Spyderco Forum and do a search for Military, you will find a couple of recent threads discussing the current variants.

The Spyderco Military is a great knife. I have one 440V (S60V) half-serrated version and 2 CF/BG42's. I prefer the CF/BG42 version as it has a couple of improvements over the earlier models (other than the steel and handle material), but all Millies are awesome

Just finished posting on the Spyderco forum about receiving my new Military BG-42 carbon fiber scales. This is one awesome knife! I also love my full-size Manix. But the Military is a bit ligher and the carbon fiber scales really sets the knife off right. This is my first knife with the BG-42 steel and hope that it will perform well because it will be in my EDC rotation and I am not afraid to utilize my knives every way I can.
