Spyderco Moran, Drop point or Trailing point?

Hi,
I am getting a friend a Spyderco Moran and was wondering which blade shape was more suited for self defense? I'm leaning toward the clip point but can't tell from pictures if this style has decent penetration or is the point too full?

Thanks in advance.

Neither if you're not trained to fight with knives. Either will slash and either will stab if that's the question. Just from a visual aspect I like the Bowie/Trailing Point more and Bowies have been used as fighting knives. So...yeah, that gets my vote.

Thank you for the reply, but my question was which of these two knives penetrated better, clip point or dropped?

Drop point is slightly stronger, trailing point is more penetrating and offers more belly. Trailing point was my choice but I stab only pork, beef, fish or chicken.

I use the drop point in the field and it does a great job when field dressing dangerous white tail deer.
