new to this forum would appreciate info. on purchase options for spyderco mule with c.p.m. m4 steel .read glassers decription of triple temper & want to buy w/o paying full retail.thanks for helping me.
 
I don't think you can buy it under the retail price. If anything, they sell for well over the original MSRP as only 600 were made and they are no longer sold.

It's a great knife though, I love mine. Its raw performance is absolutely staggering.
 
Something to understand about the Spyderco Mule Team project is the knives are sold only through the Spyderco Factory Outlet, either in person or online. They are sold to us at the same price they would sell to a distributer. The only ways to get one cheaper are either to buy a factory second (which is usually only about five bucks less than the full price) or find someone who wants to sell a used one at a loss. With knives as good as these Mules have proved to be, that is not going to be easy.

These forums are listed as 'private' and never show anything in them? Is this because you have to be a paying member? It seems like I posted in them in the past but they no longer work for me?

There are plenty of posts in that forum by registered users. You should not have to be a paying member to post a thread in the Want to Buy forum. If you are having trouble, you should start a thread in Service and Support.
 
The Want to Buy forums are a bit odd. A registered user can post a thread there, and he can read his own post and any replies, but only someone who is allowed to sell (Gold or higher) can read through all the threads. This was necessary because people were using the WTB forums to sell their stuff without being a paying member (browsing the WTB threads and e-mailing offers to sell). That loophole has been closed.

Thanks that's good to know. At least I know I can post there if I am wanting something.
