I’m excited about the new steel, so I decided to pick one of these up. Not without making my own changes of course….

Off with the finger guard!

Made the ricasso smaller

I couldn’t find my angle grinder….also took it to about .008” behind the edge so it actually cuts

Anyone need a piece of the new steel?

I sae this on Instagram and appreciate the WIP pics here. Very cool! I'm debating whether to grind down the guard on mine as well.

Hey I’d buy or at least pay for shipping of the extra piece! I’ve got a sort of catra like test I do and I think I could make that work, with a lot of sharpening to make an edge bevel! I unfortunately missed the mule drop while on vacation last month and can’t justify buying it second hand. Let me know! Also awesome modifications and grinding work!

Sold. Can’t send messages to you don’t know how to coordinate

Why cut off so much of the tang? Because you couldn't shape the handle like you wanted with all the holes in it?
I am not too fond of the mule handle shape. Normally I don’t go that extreme on partial tangs but it was required to get a shape I was happy with. I imagine it will still be plenty strong and also has that hidden pin
