My Mule in M4 is always attached to the shoulder strap of my pack when ever I hike, hunt or backpack. I have created wood shavings, batoned sticks, gutted trout and grouse and even field dressed a turkey.
I am a relatively new hunter and got my first deer last fall. I used my Mule to clean it and while it worked, I didn't find the Mule to be the ideal knife for it because of how pointy it is. Still a great knife for any outdoor adventure.
I am planning on picking up a Bill Moran Drop Point to be my dedicated hunting knife.
I've kept my XHP mule on my desk for a utility knife. I used it recently to dice 1.5 lb of roast for some chili, then after that I diced another 6 lb of roast for a big batch of chili.
I've used some of mine for kitchen duty and EDC tasks.
Bushcraft uses will be fine but I'm wary about using mine to drill into wood because of the distal taper and the relatively thin tip. With care they will work for most things quite nicely.
I wanted to experiment with a supersteel so I picked up 2 MT18's got the first one in and than the opportunity came to pick up a backup a few days latter so I jumped at it. I use it around the house as the area I live in isn't too fixed blade friendly even though it's legal I'd rather not have to deal with cops explaining to them that I am not doing anything wrong or illegal so no EDC use sadly .
So far the most use it's seen is cutting up a significant amount of cardboard and it's pretty dang good at that I must say. I went through a lot of cardboard and it didn't even dull the blade. Beyond that it will be put up to everything else around the house I could think of minus food preparation. And eventually I try my hand at reprofiling and sharpening it which is the major reason why I wanted this knife, to test out my sharpening skills and how a supersteel such as this performs as I didn't think I see an opportunity to test this type of steel ever again at such a price point.
