Spyderco Native Reground...

Here are a couple of pics for those of you that were interested in finding out if a Spyderco Native could be reground with a full flat grind.

This one is .010" just behind the edge prior to sharpening.

Should cut like a light saber!

I like it! It reminds me of the old Al Mar Falcon from the late '70s, flat ground with swedge tip instead of the saber ground Talon they do now.

Is that something an average shmoe like me can try with a belt sander or is it done by hand with benchstones?
 
No fair making me drool on my laptop!

I have a Native, wonder if I could fudge that with the XC diamond stone I have coming in.

How much length was lost? The width looks good though.
 
I wouldn't recommend doing this with stones!! It takes long enough with a belt grinder and good belts!!:eek:

No length or width was lost. It was just thinned down.
