I bought a Spyderco Native today and like it a whole lot!
It is very light and while I have read about some ppl not liking the thickness of the blade, I have to say I rather like it. Also it feels very solid and fits my hand well.
All in all it's (in my noob opinion) a very good knife for only 40$.

Not much else to say about it so far. Was just excited and wanted to post about it :D
I just started getting into the whole knife thing so plz excuse the noob reaction to my new knife lol

Good choice, enjoy the Native, it is a very nice knife to have in your pocket.:)

The Spydie Native has become a classic design for its simplicity and its utility. You made an excellent choice. I just wish tht they made them about 3/16" shorter so that they would fit under the 3" limit on blade length that many jurisdictions impose. It is odd, but my Blue Forum Native has a 3 1/32" blade and I have carried it a lot in DC and never worried over it, but I understand that the later ones run around the stated 3 1/8" blade length. I suspect that carrying one of those might well be pushing it.

The Native is a great knife. And if you are into camping, the grooved thumbrest on the spine of the blade makes a fantastic striker for a firesteel.

Is DWM your initials, or do you like some of the DWM products (like, say, a nice old Luger)?

The Native in Cpm 440v(i think it was a ltd. run?) was one of my first Spyderco knives and t was 100% reliable. I used it 2 summers in a row to gut trout and make camp dinners, it'd been loaned to irresponsible non "knife-person" friends who did stupid things like cut cans and hard rubber with it. It still holds a decent edge to this day and is currently in retirement in my lockbox. Good choice an an inexpensive and worthy folder!

The Native is definately a great buy, and so easy to replace if needed. The ease of replacing a knife, in the event it is stolen, is always a buying point for me.

I've got several knives that cost three times as much as the Native, such as a Heckler and Koch, Mini Skirmish, Manix, Emerson CQC, and that damn Native is the one that goes into my pocket 80% of the time like it is right now. You just can't top the combination of lightness, toughness, and top of the line steel.

I just picked one up lately, like yesterday and i have a bald patch on my arm, proving to my friend ("no knife meant for work is actually shaving sharp" how sharp it was out of the box...
a fool and his money are soon parted.
:)
