On the back edge of the blade on the navigator there is a notch.
I was wondering why it was made this way.

I tried to take a photo of the notch, sorry it did not turn out to good.

AKA Knife Knut,
Welcome to the forum :)

I see what you mean but my other knives are not like that and I don't have any problem sharpening them to the end.

I find that when cutting cardboard the cardboard finds it way into the notch, making it not cut very well.
I'm sure I will get use to it, I was just wondering why it was made that way.

I got the same problem but with serrarted edges. Although some recomend the serrated edges on cardboard, some of the thicker stuff gums up the knife, making it tough to cut with a push cut resorting to a sawing cut or even finisihng the job with the straight edge.

So if the notch is so that u can sharpen all the way to the edge, why is it not on the other blades as well? If it is on the other knives then i offer my apolgies.
