I saw this thread from years ago, which has made me hold off: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1000644-WARNING-Pekko-Nilakka-Folder!!!!

Do they still come with this warning?

I have had one for about 1 1/2 years. I do not remember if this warning came with the knife or not. I will say that the Nilakka is possibly the sharpest Spyderco I have ever received and it is very easy to maintain that sharpness. I am careful with what I cut with the Nilakka - it is definitely not a hard use knife. That being said, i have not had any problems with the edge rolling. The quality on mine was more than likely the best I have gotten from Spyderco. I think mine came with the backbevel and I haven't had any problems. It is a really comfortable knife to use - the handle is unlike any other Spyderco with the exception of the Puuko. Fun knife, I'm glad I picked one up.

IIRC, the initial run was shipped with a zero grind and excessive chipping was a reported problem. Spyderco's solution was to run a microbevel on every run since. Only the very early examples shipped with a proper zero grind and probably included this warning.

Mine came with the micro bevel when I bought it new just more than a year ago.

No issues with light EDC use, but it will never be a pry-tool. If the edge is still too thin for your liking, simply sharpen it a bit to thicken the edge.

I'm in the same situation. Mine came with a micro-bevel and I still carry it occasionally. My Nilakka performs like a dream and is one of the smoothest opening knives I've ever owned. You shouldn't abuse it but you also shouldn't worry about it chipping or rolling with the microbevel they now come with.
