I'm considering one of these knives, I'm torn..... If price not in concern, which one of these would you get?

Spyderco Nilakka
Spyderco Centofante Memory
Benchmade 940-1 Osborne

I'm very biased because I just got my Nilakka in the mail today (posted a pic in the daily EDC thread as well). I'm loving it, but be aware that it is a very thick and relatively heavy knife. The angular G10 scales makes it feel sturdy and surprisingly comfortable in the hand, despite how the geometry might make you think otherwise. Certainly not a knife for everyone, but I find it absolutely beautiful. You won't be disappointed with it, should you choose it.

I'd personally get the Nilakka. S30v steel if I'm not mistaken and it has more field duty qualities as well as a shape that historically has proven itself as strong, reliable and takes a great edge with that steel.

The Centofante is too pretty to be a user for me.
The Nilakka is cool..
But the 940-1 is classic. Everyone should try one out.

Complete bias because I own the 940-1, but based on the pics and specs of the other two models I would still go with the 940-1. The 940 is possibly my favorite overall design ever because it's very slim/light/portable and capable/versatile at the same time. The 940-1, with its flow-through design, cf scales, upgraded steel, and reduced (2.4 ounce) weight make it even better and it's become my go-to EDC. Not many knives with a 3.4" blade completely disappear in my pocket. Of course the blade is not tall and it's not the best slicer or piercer in the world, but it functions more than well enough for 99% of my daily uses.

I would like to not "like" The Memory, for only one reason. The factory fits the knife with washers that not the same thickness, looks strange especially for a $200. knife.

Go with the 940-1.

I have owned and used all three of these knives, and there is no point in pointing out what I did or didn't like, as that is personal preference.

The 940 is a classic for a reason. The blade, the overall size, the ergonomics.....it's an excellent knife, and on this list it would be by far my #1 choice......

Benchmade really knocked it out of the park when they designed the 940-1 scales. Supremely contoured, quality carbon fiber. It feels fantastic AND durable, AND is light as can be.
Seems like the ideal handle material.

940 is an exceptional knife for classy slim elegance as well as use. IMO best knife possible in its category.

Could not agree more!
YMMV....a little, not much, but for me the perfect EDC......even the sheeple that have seen mine didn't run screaming for a SWAT team.
Super fun to fondle, great blade and flickability is off the chart.
I bought 3.......when my 2 older boys saw mine they each NEEDED one!
I love that both carry them every day......one is in Manhattan working on control systems in elevators and escalators.......the other is in an office for Bank of America.
The 940 is at home in both jobs.
Great blade all around.

If you can find one of the older Nilakkas thats has a zero grind, id get that. Now you will need to do a lil work and hog of some of the damaged steel but afterwards its one hell of a cutter and it feels great I hand and top notch fit and finish. You can still zero grind the new ones (im going to do that soon to mine) but it will take more work. I just don't like that knife with a secondary bevel, it wrong. If not thst the 940-1 is a great knife. Based on what imo is one if the top 3 edc knives ever (for me para 2 is #1) and made even better (depends who you ask, for me I love the cf scales but would prefer m390 or m4 over s90v) with upgraded scales and steel, all in a lightweight, fun to play with (axis love) package. Memory is nice too, I just wish Japan made spydies weren't 95% vg10, it gets borring. Slap some super blue and a very thin grind and that there is a winner. Overall you can't go wrong with either one, all 3 are great just depends on what you're looking for in a knive.

Good looks and easy to sharpen steel? Memory
Classic design and grat cutting ability? Original batch Nilakka or have the new one reground, but then you can do that to all 3.
Edc perfection, great looks, fun and tough lock, wear resistant but long sharpening steel and highest price? 940

If it was me it would be a battle between nilakka and 940, depends on the price too since 940 is about $100 more expensive. Id say 940 is a better edc knife overall since its a good 2 oz lighter and more fun to play with. Cutting ability goes to nilakja but 940 is no slouch either, benchmade usually grinds them relatively thin.
