I love my Rubicon. Though, to be honest, I bought it more out of fascination with Peter Carey's customs than any practical desire. Having to choose between $300 for a Rubicon or $3,000 secondary-market price for a custom Carey blade isn't a hard choice for me.
The fit and finish are as excellent as everyone says; the carbon fiber is beautifully contoured and polished, the flipping action is great, and the lengths to which Spyderco went to manufacture Rubicon-specific hardware (pivot screws, pocket clip, and backspacer) is very impressive. Off-the-shelf parts would've been cheaper and quicker to use, but these details make this collaboration really special.
The Rubicon does have some quirks that make people either love or hate the design. The amount of recurve the blade has isn't to everyone's liking, the thickness of the handle feels great in the hand but takes up a lot of pocket room for a 3" blade, and considering the Rubicon's size it isn't exactly a featherweight (about the same weight as a Manix 2 Cruwear). I am either indifferent to or prefer some of these things, so it isn't an issue for me.
About the only universal, and objective, criticism I have heard/read/experienced about the Rubicon is that the lock is sticky. But a little Sharpy or graphite takes care of that quickly.
