Spyderco Nylon Sheaths & Dulling

Hello everyone - I'm not a big fan of glass filled nylon sheaths because often I've found that they dull the edge when the knife is drawn. But, I haven't found this to be a problem with my Spyderco fixed blade knives with nylon sheaths. (I have several including the Moran in drop point & upswept blade versions and the Perrin Street Bowie.) These are some of my favorite fixed blade knives.) And yes, I know how to draw the knife in such a way as to minimize edge contact. I've tried other brand knives that had this dulling effect no matter how carefully you draw them, ruining my efforts to make a hair popping edge.

I'd appreciate your comments on this. Are the Spyderco nylon sheaths better designed, are the materials they use different than that used by other companies ? Or do you experience this dulling effect with your nylon sheath Spydercos too ?

Bugout Bill - thank you for your reply. I looked on the Spyderco website and they described the sheath for the Moran as being made from bolatron, but said the one for the latest version of the Street Bowie is 'a completely redesigned sheath. Injection molded from polymer".

I've seen the sheath materials described in different ways - even for the exact same models - from various retailer websites. Haven't had any problems with Spyderco sheaths & I wondered if they used different methods/materials than some other makers.
