I have recently aquired a spyderco ocelet ! This is a beautiful solid knife with amazing fit and finish , but dome things seem different about it then your typical japanise spyderco. The tang and blade markings appear to be stamped in insted of lasered, the font is different , and it only says japan .. No seki city marking. I was just wondering if this model was made by a different plant then most seki spydies?

From what I have read in the Spyderco forums, the maker that does the Enduras/Delicas does not make the Ocelot (I think they made the Caly 3 too). They chose to stamp JAPAN in the blade to differentiate themselves from the SEKI CITY manufacturers. If I'm incorrect, I'm sure someone will chime in with the correct answer.

Whatever it is, I like it. My own Ocelot is easily my best built folder. Amazing execution!

Does that model have the single steel liner or the dual?
It has dual liners, and the lack of Seki markings is a strong indication it was made by Moki. AFAIK, they're the only Japanese maker Spyderco uses who does not put Seki on the blade. They're the ones who have built some of Spyderco's finest knives in terms of fit and finish. The C27 Jess Horn, the Kiwi, the Schempp Persians and Kris, and the Kopa series were all their work.
