I was able to drive down to go to the OKCA show in Eugene today, great show lots of custom makers, older more established/famous makers like Ed Schempp and some new local guys just starting out. But of the 2 hours I was there I spent half the time at the Spyderco table. They had a ton of Prototypes and concept models a few I recognized from the Amsterdam show, but most of them I had never seen, they had at least 3 over 4.5inches, got to see a stop lock (not on the Military 2 yet), and a very interesting and smooth lock that appeared to act like a two part back lock that was pretty cool. Several interesting designs by different people around the world. I won't describe too much as I'm not sure what I'm allowed to mention or not, but very cool. Sal and Eric were very friendly and personable and full information, I'm really excited for the direction Spyderco is headed (S90V, S110V, etc).

I also got to meet Sal for the first time today and he was a great guy and never seemed to get tired of talking about his knives lol. We talked a little about the expansion they are doing and plan on doing to try and get caught up on the PM2 orders as well. The carbon fiber handled PM2 was a very nice knife and I was also very surprised at how many prototypes they had there on display many of which i had never even heard of before.

That "XL Techno" was the bomb! I really really hope they make it, the ergos and look and materials were super!!

Thanks again to Sal and Eric and crew for coming to the show and being so personable/informative. Those protos were all very interesting (I especially liked Ed Schempps new folder, among many others) and it is not often you get to stop by and talk design choices with the designers themselves!

Sal doesn't allow pics of protos. I'll see if I can find something that looks close to it. There were several designs in the 3.5" blade range but I thought this one felt and looked the best.

Well I can't find anything close, although the handle looks a little bit like a boker epicenter but with less sharp angles.
