I like the old one better, it's not so aggressive, and it won't easily get cought it those cutting materials . . .

Same on you? :rolleyes: :confused: :D

I'm not sure that's entirely correct. My spyderedge Paramilitary looks like the second knife, whatever it is.

Santi I like your pics - personally I prefer the "old serrations" too as they cut well and don't shock the people - they look a little bit nicer :)

@eojk: I see from above to top: C03 Hunter / C05 Standard G-10 / C52 Calypso Jr. FRN

IIRC serretions pattern (Deep or not-too-deep) are decided upont the blade steel, not area. S30V has less deepness (sic) than VG-10.

If you don't like them deep, then use the knife more. They'll wear down with use and sharpening.

IT is rather fascinating how the serrations have evolved over the years. The Mariner I just traded away had a beautiful serration pattern. The one serrated Paramilitary I had was endowed with really "spiky" serrations. Now I have an old Spyderco Catcherman fillet knife that is fully serrated ( rare bird :cool: ) and it has a non radical wavy serration which really fillets fish nicely. I can understand why they quit making that fully serrated Catcherman. It was truly a useful tool.

Probably the most perfect Spyderco serrations are on my Combo Edged Gunting.
