They've really stepped up.QC seems to good too be a Case.
I get what youre saying... i realize there are slipjoint Spyderco's... but i mean like a mod where u take a wood or bone traditional folder and put a ladybug or grasshopper blade on it... and i just used CaseXX as an example... im confused at the mockery... i was just asking if anyone ever saw one...Not great at photoshop but how does this look?

Just seems like an awful lot of extra work, and for what really? So iv seen a "Spydernox" (Spyderco blade on a SAK) but have u ever seen anyone put a Spyderco blade on a traditional slipjoint folder (like a CaseXX)???
Natural materials, gotcha. OK as noted not great at photoshop but try this.I get what youre saying... i realize there are slipjoint Spyderco's... but i mean like a mod where u take a wood or bone traditional folder and put a ladybug or grasshopper blade on it... and i just used CaseXX as an example... im confused at the mockery... i was just asking if anyone ever saw one...
I totally understand what you're saying I also agree that a Corvette engine has no business in a Chevette.... I just keep imagining a Spyderco Stockman but also has a mini sheeps foot on it and I can't help but feel like that would be kind of sick... and honestly with as many Spyderco Swiss army knife mods there are online I'm sure the idea isnt all that uncommon... I mean there's no way I'm the first person to think of this on blade forums...Just seems like an awful lot of extra work, and for what really?
Personally, if I had the resources, I'd much rather take the time to make (or have made) new scales to fit a knife handle in question, rather than try to Frankenbuild a blade and handle that were never meant to be together.... idk, maybe I'm too old, I'm on the boomer side of genX, just making the cut, but just doesn't make much sense to me. Like folks that dropped corvette motors on chevette bodies. made all the plumbing work, just because they could.... but why?
Those are not traditional slip joints and you know it... and frankly those look five times worse than a Spyderco blade super glued to a caseNatural materials, gotcha. OK as noted not great at photoshop but try this.

Where are the high polish bolsters? where's the badge? go look at a GEC or a schatt and Morgan and then go find something like that with a Spyderco blade on it so you can s*** on it for me real quickNatural materials, gotcha. OK as noted not great at photoshop but try this.

I love oddities... the weirder the better... the best thing is the weirdest custom piece that is also immaculately made by Master CraftsmanJust seems like an awful lot of extra work, and for what really?

You could always try to; master the craft, man... (see what I did there?)I love oddities... the weirder the better... the best thing is the weirdest custom piece that is also immaculately made by Master Craftsman
That really sounds like a great idea I'm in the process of getting a grinder now and I have a little drill press I bought from my stepdad and planned on getting some cheap "well-loved" but good looking slip joints on eBay or whatnot putting my own custom carbon steel blades Springs and handle scale material on the existing handle frame... but honestly I think I might have to try doing some with a byrd on itYou could always try to; master the craft, man... (see what I did there?)
Seriously though, start with a couple rough riders of your choosing, and some byrds, costing pennies on the dollars to practice with, and by the time you figure it all out on those, you'll be golden to do it on a Spydie and a Case of your own choosing, with a far better understanding of three's process, and tolerances...

I've made two traditional fixed blade knives with my uncle who's a pretty well-known Custom Knife maker in South Carolina... but other than that the only experience I have was I did some Machining for a company I worked for that made child sized exercise equipment for public schoolsYou could always try to; master the craft, man...
