Guys, I am looking at this knife for a pocket carry while I am standing in a river fly fishing because of the "will not rust even put away wet" statement.

Can't seem to find much on the H1 blade material. Does anyone know much about it?

Is it fairly easy to sharpen?
Does it hold a decent edge?
Does it get razor sharp without an hours worth of work?

Anything you can tell me about the H1 steel is appreciated.

"will not rust even put away wet" Yes it is true.

Is it fairly easy to sharpen? Fairly easy on a sharpmaker.
Does it hold a decent edge? IMHO about as good as any other

.

Mine goes to the beach and pool.
Sometimes on the same day.

So far Pacific ocean sea water and chlorine have done nothing to it.

Basically, what uxo2 said. It will get sharp without a huge amount of effort. It cannot rust, at a chemical level. You could store it in saltwater for years and it'd come out fine (not sure how the washers would fair in that test though). Edge retention is similar to AUS-8 or 8Cr. That is to say, it won't hold an edge forever but it does a perfectly serviceable job and is easy to maintain. Supposedly the steel also grows harder with use and thus edge retention improves over time. Not sure why that is, but it's kind of a cool feature.

Mine goes in water frequently. Not a single spot of rust. Like amg said, it is very easy to sharpen but doesn't hold it forever. I think it is a fine trade off for a rust proof water blade.

I have been using mine for years for salt water fishing. It's a great knife for cutting bait such as squid and anchovies.I prefer nail clippers for cutting mono line. Two knifes go on my boat a fillet knife and a Pacific Salt every time.I wash mine with hot water and soap after every trip. It's sharpens up very easily, holds a respectable edge, and touches up in seconds.I wish I has purchased an Aqua Salt, but that's water under the bridge.I prefer the PE model.....

Check out Surfingringo's threads... He's an ocean kayak fisherman, that has put a couple Salts through their paces.
