Hello everyone. I'm going to be doing a detent replacement for a paramilitary 2. Normally I would just take a small punch and pop it out from the other side, but, the hole in the liner is not drilled all the way through so I can't do that.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to remove the ball?
Also, I believe it's a 1/16 ball, can anybody clarify for me?
Thanks guys.

I don't think you can replace the ball without just getting a new liner. I don't really know why you would want to replace the ball, anyways.

I've used a dial caliper to mark and drill an opposing side hole with very close results. The punch hole can be smaller than the detent to make up for inaccuracy. Then just punch away ;)

If you need better results use a drill press and peck a work surface first (peck is a partially drilled hole, one that the detent would fit into nicely in this case). Then when you lay the liner down detent side down, the detent will center itself under the bit.
