So im seriously considering picking up a para 2 after reading all the insanely positive reviews on the knife. Could somebody please post a picture of the para 2 next to some common knives? I just cant judge the size of a knife by in-hand shots. Im most familiar with the BM mini grip and BM 940 considering I carry one of the two every day, so a picture with one of the two would be great. Thanks in advance guys!

Fast forward to the 4:30 mark...

Quick crappy iPad photo:

Cannot get enough of this blade. I'm considering selling my FRN-handled, lockback Spydercos after handling this knife...they feel like cheap toys by comparison. It even rivals my 710 (my favorite EDC) for value-for-the-money. I was as skeptical as the next person that a knife could be this good, but I finally took the plunge and got one. Haven't regretted it at all...and that's coming from a massive Benchmade fan.

I made the mistake of buying the PM2 first...now I can't even touch those FRN ones :p

The full size grip closer in size....here 'tis with a few others....

Too true! After getting used to the Para 2's buttery smooth acton and detent, the stiff action of Spydercos' lockback designs is jarring. I also can't stand the FRN-feeling of them either compared to the Paramilitary2's G10. I'm seriously considering selling or gifting my Endura 4...it does nothing that my Para 2 already does.

Here's a comparison shot of a PM2, 940 and a Sage 1 in the closed position...

One more thing to add, it carries like a smaller knife .

Disagree to some extent. It's quite a large handle for having only 3" of edge. Compare it to the 940 as in the pics above, and you can see the 940 gives more edge for much less pocket room.

edited to add:
Or another comparison, it's about the same edge length as a Mini Griptilian (.1" more) but has a larger handle than the full size Grip (~.2" more).

Knives like the Kershaw Leek or AGRussell Featherlite spank it when it comes to how well they carry (and are in the same range of edge length).

I'd consider the Para more a knife for people who like that ~3" blade but want a bigger handle and are willing to sacrifice pocket space.

Im a smaller knife guy and the 940 was my step towards larger knives. Its not large by any means, it was just me feeling out a bit more blade. I dont think the pm2 will be huge. I have a rat 1 folder and it looks to be more or less the same size. These pictures are really helping!

I like the 3.3" blade of the PM2 just fine. I generally carry a Zaan or large Sebbie daily (each is ~3.6" blade) but don't need that long a blade. The handle size (length as well as width and thickness) is extremely important, however, and the glowing evidence of this is the fact that I can't/don't ever carry a small Sebenza...the grip gets lost in my hand somewhere. Smaller grip-size is not always a good thing; I find that the Sage2 (3" blade), the Grayman DUA (3.15"), the large Sebbie(3.6") are about right for my hand-size, and blade-length is NOT an issue.
