Is it normal that these faces on the hole do not match? (one longer than the other)

I'm assuming that's just slight variances on each side of the plunge grind. I've got a lot of Para 3s ... I'll look at some over the weekend to give you some feedback! I've honestly never even looked at that part of the blade.

I would return it and?or contact Spyderco.

Is it a functional issue. No, but once seen, it can't be unseen. If you're paying well over $100, you should be happy with it.

I don't have any p3s but I have owned about 12-15 different pm2s, just looked at the 7 I have remaining as well as 4 manix 2s & 2 shamans. All with similar grinds. I have never noticed this before but all mine seem to be on point.

Not sure if you can see ( my phone has a crappy camera), but my PM3 looks to be even. Pardon the dirty blade, this thing is a worker.

I tried to get photos of a couple of my knives. I don't have a coated blade and my lighting isn't as good. Can you see this with the naked eye?

Mine are clearly not noticable, but there is a tiny bit of variation . . . I think.

Checked my Spyders, my Manix 2 is a bit like yours, seki models and Native 5 are near perfect. Never would have noticed but now I do, my Manix does not bother me

Ever since you brought this up now I can't stop thinking about it 😂 and looking 🧐 my manix in s30v might be off ever so slightly. Also now I noticed most of mine are more well rounded than yours. Some slightly less.

My son's para3 lightweight has the mismatch. We never noticed it. I think the para3 has a sharper shoulder, so it is more noticeable.

These are definitely within tolerances that I would expect, but it is interesting.

I don't have many dlc blades. Partially because I expect to scratch up my knives over time. But in this case having steel there would make it less noticeable, and a pass or two over it with a jewelers file would subdue the shoulder a bit.

Knife OCD. Is there a cure?
