Hey Guys,
Great forum, lots of information. I am thinking about getting this knife for my every day carry. I want a very sharp knife and I liked the looks of this one. Does anyone out there have this knife? Do you like it? and where do you suggest I go to get the best pricing? Thanks for any and all replies:)

Its a great little knife with good grippy G10 scales and good ergonomics. Great blade shape, great blade steel, smooth opening, and just good all the way around.

Personally, I am not a big fan of the compression lock, but aside from that, the Para is certainly a keeper.

I don't have the Para, but it's on my list to get. I do have several other Spydercos and you can not go wrong with them. Some other Para owners should drop in and give their input before too long. You can get more info and possibly more/better replies if you post over in the Spyderco sub-forum under the "Manufacturers" link at the very top of the page.

As far as good places to order from, check these out:

www.soonerstateknives.com
www.savsonswordsandknives.com/index.html

They've got it for 103-108.00 depending on blade color and serrations.

These next two happen to be a few bucks higher on the Para, but are very good reputable stores with generally good pricing on everything.

Welcome to the forums - good folk here. Yes, I have a Paramilitary - mine is a PE one. The real nice thing about this guy, is that the handle is oversize, compared to other folders in that size range. What's nice about that, is that if you need to apply a lot of pressure (i.e knocking down Dell Server boxes:D ) you don't have to really worry about your hand getting tired. Spyderco got the ergos really right one this one. I'm a lefty when it comes to knives, but I find the compression lock pretty easy to use, just needs a little practice:) I'm neutral on tip down or tip up. It is not part of my regular EDC carry unless I know I'm going to need it. BUT I also carry anywhere from 4 to 6 blades most days. I do find it a bit big for pocket carry, but it's fine clipped in my cargo pants pocket. When I do carry it, I'll either have a BM550 or Camillus Heat clipped to the other cargo pant pocket for balance:D Not that it's heavy, but just how I pack stuff around :) I have used it just enough to know that it's a bit harder to touch up the edges on the S30V compared to say VG-10 on my Delica or Endura (I like my Spydies - I think I'm up to 15 or so:) ), but then again, it's not that much harder. I bought mine locally, and hence paid a premium for it, but I'm really glad to have it. One of those cases where I wanted it, but wanted to touch and feel first and didn't want to risk getting it seized.

Hope this helps - gord
