Well I'm considering purchasing another high grade production knife and I really like the looks of those two knives. It will fill a EDC role along side my Manix 2. The pricing of the Paramilitary 2 is much better, but the ZT0550 looks amazing and seems like it might be a better quality knife.

Does anyone here have both of these knives? How would you compare them? Are they even comparable?

Another point, I don't have a compression lock like the PM2, while I have a few Kershaw liner lock knives (no ZTs though).

I would recommend handling both before buying and getting the one you like the best.

Where/how can I do this? No store will have either, and even the online stores are so back ordered it's not even funny.

Between those 2 you are going to want to handle them 1st. ;)

I own 2 of the Para 2's and I tested a 0551.....

I think you're going to find a lot of personal preferences, but also the general agreement that they are both going to be amazing knives.

That's what I was thinking, and at almost $100 cheaper, the PM2 is VERY tempting.

But what are the chances of me even getting one within two months haha. Is ebay the only place I'm going to find one without waiting? Anyone got one they want to sell?

They are both good knives, but are completely different and they feel a lot different so holding them in hand is the best advise I can give.

I honestly really wish I could, but I don't see that as being possible without buying both which could take months/years. Most places locally (if they even sell Spyderco knives) only have Enduras and Delicas.

I have a 2nd I'll send you so to try out the 0551. Might help out your decision.

Extremely cool move. I've encountered very few companies -- in cutlery or any other business -- that consistently go the extra mile like Thomas and KAI do.

Have any more of those seconds lying around, Thomas? :D

Depending on what goes on with the ZT, I might be sending you an email about the PM2 you have for sale if someone doesn't beat me to it
