Its one of the only spydercos i like but it seems to be a lot of trouble to find. Is it worth the hassle? And if so, what do you like about it?

Indeed it is.
I love the compression lock, the amazing ergos, the good steel, the overall quality and fit and finish.
It's a great knife, and you should definitely get one. =]

Oh and try some other Spyders too. =]

I've been looking for the PM2 also. I broke down and bought a SuperLeaf. I wasn't sure about the little finger hook on the back of the handle, but it never gets in the way. It turns out that I really like the compression lock. I'm still looking for the PM2 at the right price.

Its small enough for EDC tasks, but big enough to make you think you could protect yourself with it. Beyond that, the ergonomics are great. Hang tight, and when supply catches up with demand it will all be good.

YES!!! Egero's ,weight , the lock , the blade steel s30v and the blade shape. The only Spyderco that beats the Para2 for me right now is the Southard. I still miss the light weight of the Para2 though.

I remember the word on the street was that Spyderco was hiring more people for the Golden factory to increase production, but would take a few months to get them trained.

Is a must have being priced at what it cost for a super leaf. It's just a well design blade. I've actually sold some of my BM to buy mine. I will pay fair market value. Keep your eyes alert. It comes up every now and then. Here the one I got today....love it.earth brown

Absolutely worth the hassle of finding.
Took 4 months for the 1st para 2 I ordered to arrive, in all black.
When I got it I thought well, yeah, it's ok. It took a little bit of breaking in and fiddling with the pivot and stop screws to get it moving smooth and free. Now, after a bit over 2 months of carrying and using it I totally get the whole Para 2 thing. I have several nice Spydercos and Benchmades but the Para 2 is almost always in my pocket.
As an EDC knife its shape, size, weight, fast easy deployment, ergonomics, blade shape are so well balanced and just plain usable. Its such a great using knife, only using one for a while explains it properly.
And I recently got a sprint run Para 2 brown/S35VN :)

I've owned more Para 2's than any other knife model. I HAD three NIB S90v's which I dearly loved, but finally sold. I had about ten or so of the best blade-steels, and they're all gone. I only have S30V's now, in black G10 or in digi-camo and one grey CTS 20CP that I won't get rid of. There is no better knife, IMO.
The compression lock is so great...it defies comparison with any other. BladeChick nailed it pretty well.
Just buy one for $130 or so. You'll become a believer.

That sums it up nicely. I sold one of my 3 S90V Paras a couple years ago...shoulda kept it. :(

Para 2 is the real deal, it's the whole package. Light, generous size scales, brilliant blade size & profile, razor sharp and by far, it's the easy knife I've ever used to open/close with my weak hand. I'm able to open the Para 2 with my left hand more quickly and safely than I can all my assist knives and many of the auto's too. I dig it allot. Thank goodness a fellow consumer at my local gun shop let me handle his Para 2; if not for that, I would've probably continued to reject the notion of purchasing one. Once you hold it, use it and spend some time getting to know it, you'll never regret having purchased one.

para2.jpg On a you tube video the guy said" 2 is 1, 1 is none. You need a backup. It got me. I bought two. No regrets. Now just one more in SV90. Who am I kidding?
