Likely too good to be true! Para 2's listed on eBay for $70 each or 3 for $180 (starting bid- no bids yet with 5hrs left). Sounds like a great deal but I'm just too afraid of "great deals" on eBay to take a chance on them. If it were a known and reputable seller then maybe but......

I posted them yesterday on spyderco's "fake" forum thread.

I also sent a message to ebay pleading for them to require that this guy at the very least puts replica in the title. He also sells knock-off Leupold scopes and it looks like he scammed a bunch of people.

I battled with the seller too on a previous listing. Here is some of the correspondence. (Starting from the bottom). There are some more sent messages I have that bash him as well.

Dear tcrenterprises11c,

Congratulations on your most recent feedback!! Hahahahahahahahahahahhahaha

Sir you are not the first person to report these knives. I assure you that we have been through this before and that we have contacted the manufacturer to assure that these are genuine Spyderco knives. There is no reason or need to sit here and threaten me. If you do continue to do so I will report you to eBay for harassment and slander. Thank you and have yourself a great day :)

Dear tcrenterprises11c,

Scammer!! You know nothing! And yes there are spydercos made in the US, Japan and China. Your a lying cheating scammer and I will be submitting your ad to spyderco and ebay. Your pride is stopping you from realizing that these are the most faked knives on earth and its a major problem. Especially with the Paramilitary 2 which is what your knives are knock offs of. DUMMY!

Dear palmbeachselection,

I assure you that these are real. Like I said they are made all over the world. I don't care what "forum" you are a member of. Get a business license and get in contact with suppliers and you will find out a world you never knew existed. AKA Old Timer, Gerber, Buck etc...none of them are made in the US anymore they are all made over seas and their warehouse is located in tennessee. I am not gonna sit here and argue with some old timer who still thinks everything is made in the us andhasno concept of business or how a business is ran these days. I have sold several of these knives all with happy customers with 100% feed back on all of my items that I sell. Don't take offense this is just business and I will continue to run my business and sell quality 100% authentic knives to customers for a fraction of the cost that most sell them for. You have yourself a nice day sir :)

Dear tcrenterprises11c,

I challenge you to send your knifes in (after they dont sell) and validate the authenticity. These sell for $150 a piece for basic versions.. Carbon fiber scales would jack them up to at least $200 a piece. And you can't sell 2 for $150. Stupid Scammer!!

Dear palmbeachselection,

I assure you these are real and come straight from their manufacturing plant in China. Yes they are made in china along with 13 other countries. Only 2 knifes are made in the US. Thanks for your input but considering I am a legit business and know a little more than most I know what I am talking about.

Dear tcrenterprises11c,

The reason you have no bids is because everyone knows these are fake Spyderco Paramilitary 2 repilcas.

First off they don't offer the carbon fiber scales with S30V steel
Secondly, you can see several tell tale signs when looking at the pics.

Don't risk bad feedback and potentially loosing your ebay account. Type in Spyderco Paramilitary 2 on ebay and you will see real ones and fake ones. These are the most counterfeited on the planet today.

Highway robbery at that price- there's 4 for $199 or was in another listing.

There's some really good YouTube videos on identifying Fake PM2's.

If you want one watch the For Sale Forums here on Bladeforums. I got mine for $97 delivered and it's perfect. There was a camo one yesterday (I think)) for $85 Delivered.

Honestly, if you posted this expecting a pat on the back, you'll be waiting awhile. You come off as incredibly juvenile and I too would have shrugged you off. All that seller had to do was send Ebay this correspondence between you with a note about some punk kid who keeps sending him insulting messages. Ebay isn't going to cancel this guy on your say-so.

It's hard not to sound juvenile when you're arguing with an anonymous person online. Moreover, there is no "tone" in print so what you hear as a rant is actually me insulting him in a very matter of fact way.

Also you should never start a sentence with "Honestly" as it implies that there are times when you are dishonest. Oldest communication trick in the book..

At the end of the day I was trying to do what's right and report this guy and get someone to wake up.

If you have to insult someone to get your point across, then you've already lost. That's the point I'm making. See how I've managed to make that point without calling you "DUMMY!" or "Scammer!"?

I wanted to insult him because he is a scamming pr!ck. To each his own.

In your opinion. In other peoples' opinion, he provides knives at a price they're willing to pay, and they don't care if those knives are fakes.

All in all, your life must be amazing if this is the sort of thing you worry about, and you take time out of your day to send hate messages to Ebay sellers who'll just laugh at you over them anyway, and (more to the point) won't have their auctions taken down no matter how many messages you send.

I think there are better ways to spend your time, personally. However, as you say, to each his own.

Edited to add: if you truly want to White Knight for Spyderco, I'd recommend sending auction links to them rather than engaging the seller directly. They have things like money and lawyers who might better influence Ebay to crack down on those sorts of sellers.

With that logic, there are better ways for you to be spending your time right now. Why waste your time trying to correct someone that won't agree with you no matter how many messages you send? Do you not realize that you are engaged in similar banter?

I love how on a blade sight I am getting reprimanded for busting the chops of a scammer and trying to help the knife community by making an effort. If enough people complain maybe he will have his auctions removed. Who knows? I am not worrying about this guy, but I am worried that good people may get taken advantage of. It comes from a good place buddy, regardless of your view.

To sum it up, your logic is flawed and you are less than convincing. I know you're trying to sound smart but give it a rest and adhere to your own advice.

And yes my life is amazing. Time to go catch fish!

On ebay, I would be very wary and only buy from a few larger vendors. Fake or not, no one bids on ebay auctions until the last 20 minutes or so, and the last few seconds will determine the winner. I would guess you can buy one from a major online dealer for cheaper than this knife ended up going for

Don't be so masochistic. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Tripping over pennies to save a dollar is ridiculous.

You know what they say about arguing with people on the internet don't you?

Go for it, the Spyderco forum needs more "Is my knife fake?" and "I bought a knock off now what :(" threads.

Possibly. Also, depends if the seller has a reserve to be met. So, if the reserve isn't met then he won't sell them. People put low prices to induce bidding wars and to jack up the price more than it would usually sell for. But for that knife, I'd say be cautious and avoid it, to be safe.

Sure thing, bud. Anyway, keep us up to date on your White Knight activities. You're a real hero, bruh. Fighting that GOOD fight! I'm going to look back on this moment with pride after you become super huge and famous as sticking up for knife people everywhere, and all the copycats out there are laid to rest. I'll be able to regale others with tales about how we argued back when you were first starting out. Like, a level one guy in Final Fantasy. LOL

There he goes, kids. He's taking the fight to the Ebay copycats...FOR YOU.

Man, I love this place! Also, I expect you know I'm just ragging you at this point, don't take it seriously. I sincerely hope you had some good luck on the line this evening!

The best way to handle these things is to report it to Ebay, then come here and ask others to do the same. Ebay will take it down quickly if it gets flagged by enough people. I could see sending one "FYI" type of message to the seller but beyond that, I really wouldn't bother harassing them (just because it's just a waste of time, not because they don't deserve it).

The problem is, it doesn't stop with this Ebay seller.
These knives are frequently bought by people that resell those knives as real just to make a quick profit.
At least most Ebay sellers use the actual picture of the knife, and not of a real one and then send you a fake.
