I went to the local gunshop today knife searching. I'm new to this and don't know a whole lot about knives yet. If you'll remember I bought a CRKT Ryan Model 7 a couple of weeks ago as my first real knife. Since then I've learned that that probably wasn't the best choice, especially after CRKT's recent decision to use 420J2 steel for the blade. Well I've been reading a lot about how good CPM S30V steel supposedly is. Today I bought a Spyderco Paramilitary with a CPM S30V plain edge blade. I paid $99.99 for it NIB. Do any of you know anything about it or have any opinions on this particular knife? It seems well made and I've heard a lot of good stuff about Spyderco. Out of the all of the knives I looked at today I liked the Spyderco and Benchmade stuff the most. If those Benchmade Griptilians would've had a CPM S30V blade instead of 440C I'd have had a tough choice to make.
