Just got my first Spyderco, a black blade C81GPBK Paramilitary. Cool knife, but the blade is off center when closed (biased to side of compression lock).
Does anyone know if this is normal or if it can be adjusted?

I've had a couple and have a D2 coming. One of mine was centered and the other was slightly to one side. If the blade is not rubbing, it's OK. You may be able to center the blade a bit by tightening the pivot. If you are brave, you could disassemble the knife and reassemble it. That helped one of mine.

My D2 Paramilitary arrived with the blade far too stiff to open and close using the thumbhole. I used a size 9 torx driver to adjust it to taste - it took about 10 seconds. Last night I disassembled the knife for the first time just to have a look at the parts. It took me about 15 minutes to put it back together because there is a knack to doing it. I was surprised to see there is no ball detent in locking mechanism which is good. I am planning to make an exact copy of the knife as my first homemade knife.

My CPM-D2 Para was a little off center, no where near rubbing or anything like that, just enough to notice. You can adjust the pivot which might help, but if it is not rubbing I wouldn't worry about it.
