Which one of these knives would you get,and in which one you get most for the price, quality, etc? All input welcome.ps.I cant get all 3,but have to chose just one.

I have the Spyderco Pattada and Extrema Ratio Resolza. Both are modern takes on the traditional Sardinian peasant's folder.

They share the same curved handle and blade shape. The modern ones use aluminum or G-10 scales instead of mostly natural materials in the traditional Pattadas. Also, much better staineless steel on the modern ones. The modern ones also have some kind of locking mechanism but the traditionals have no locks. Also, Spyderco's Pattada has a clip. Pattadas come in various blade lengths but around 4.5 inches seems most popular. Spyderco's is 3.9 inches and ER Resolza 4.8 inches. Both are quality made in Italy with N690 stainless steel. All are very light for their size since they're pretty slim. Both Spyderco Pattada and Extrema Ratio Resolza are priced about the same. ER Resolza has no clip. Spyderco Pattada is more practical due to smaller size, G-10 and clip.

both the spyderco "pattada" and the E.R. "resolza" are a shame compared to the traditional Pattada and Resolza knives.
I think they shouldn't have those names.

I would get the tradional Sardinian Pattada. They are very nice users as a rule.

Hi! Agree with RamZar comment and precise description. Really, I think it boils down to own preference. An “original” Pattada is something special; it tells a tale of small shops, hand-work, ancient knowledge and tradition. I consider ER (and Spyderco) items a kind of "tribute" to one famous Sardinian shepherds knife. With all the advantages of “modern” materials and technology and the option of a “proper” lock.

I have exactly a knife from Vittorio Mura, from his “mid-tech” line. Beautiful mouflon horn handle and blade shape for this one (at least I like it :)).

You can’t get wrong with a traditional Pattada . On the traditional sub_forum there is a great thread about these (called Sardinian Connection or something of the kind, if memory serves me well). Take care.
