Hey guys,

Got a Spyderco Paysan which has a stop pin that has popped out a bit (see the picture). How do I go about fixing it and is it even something I can do or will I have to ship it back to HQ? It's only a cosmetic problem since the pin is very much stuck, its not going anywhere.

Best regards,
John

Frankly, I'd ignore it. It is most likely steel, so sanding it down flush with the titanium frame would be tricky at best, and you'd likely end up with a marred finish. I doubt that sending it in would gain you anything, either. As you said, it is cosmetic, not functional.

Was it flush at one point? If so you could try to tap it back in with a punch but the chance of putting an idiot scratch on the scale would be high. You'd probably want to avoid metal on metal and put something plastic in between.

Spyderco probably won't do anything but you could try asking Peter Rassenti if he would by contacting him at:

He'll probably refuse to try to fix it too but it costs nothing to ask.

Good luck!
