Need your opinion. One of the two is coming home with me but I'm not sure which. Whats your thought on both?

Oh tough choice. I don't have the spyderco but do have a mini onslaught (limited edition version with carbon fiber) and it is one of my favorite EDC knives.

Why choose, i say get both : )

I'm a big fan of both Spyderco and Perrin, so I'd probably go that route. I've actually got the PPT on my 'to buy' list. ;)

I have a PPT and I really like it, but it's a weird knife that is definitely polarizing. The Taichung factory has excellent fit and finish, so I don't even need to touch on that. It feels as solid and well made as can be. But let me touch on a few of the odder things about it:

-It's heavy. Like really heavy. I think it weighs in at 5.8 oz, which is due mostly to the super thick steel (people always mistake them for titanium) liners and backspacers. The weight is heavily biased towards the handle, which might have some application for SD that the designers had in mind. I don't mind the rearwards bias, it makes doing fine tasks quite easy.
-The two sets of jimping on the spine are not particularly effective. I appreciate that they tried to provide jimping for both a regular grip and when choked up with the choil, but neither are aggressive enough to be of real use

I don't think you can go wrong with either knife; they're very similar in that they have super thinly ground blades that are meant for SD, but are equally effective for EDC. It's personal preference really.

As much as I like Benchmade knives, I'd have to recommend the Perrin PPT. It just feels great in my hand.
