I've had my Persian for over two months now. Before receiving it I was carrying the Chinook 2 daily. I went with the Persian exclusively for a few weeks and then back to the Chinook2 [ I missed it ].
I've decided I'll carry both and do just that often now.
The Persian has that solid feeling when you handle it, you just know it is a quality piece of work you are holding. Beautiful in design and everyday function to my eyes.
Very smooth in opening and closing, sharp as hell out of the box [ what else is new with a Spyder ], fit and finish excellent. I would prefer tip down but in it's present config, it fits clipped in either dockers or dungarees at the back of the pocket and is smooth so when you go into the pocket your hand slides by it with no roughness to the back of your hand.
Easily accessed from clipped. I did find it is easier to access this particular knife by using the index finger on the bottom of the clip to start it on it's way out of the pocket and into the hand instead of pinching the knife between the thumb and index finger which I normally do with others.
The Micarta is somewhat slippery when accessing it but once opened and in the hand during use, the design and shape of the handle locks it into the hand and it would be hard to drop it during use unless you opened your hand [ relaxed your grip some on purpose ].
Really like the bolsters and the balance seems just right while using it. Wish they didn't put the yellow/gold spyder on the clip, draws too much attention at times. Had a guy come up and ask me what Spyder it was by seeing the bug on the clip from a distance of 10 feet or so.
I'm carried many folders and tested a few. At this time in my life I can put a folder in my hand, open it and tell pretty much right away if it's for me or will need some carry time to determine whether I like something. When I was handed this Persian and opened it, I asked how much and put it into my pocket, replacing the Chinook 2 with the Persian and carrying it throughout the weekend at the MBC in Ohio where I obtained it.
Very comfortable to carry clipped, don;t know it's there until I need it. It reminds me of the Buck 110's in weight and length opened and closed. Best of all it's a lockback which I'm very fond of carrying in the last year. I have no quams about the lock failing as I do with linerlocks while in use. As well, tip up is not for me except for lockbacks which keep the blade solidly closed in the pocket to prevent the tip from stabbing my thumb when accessing it like a few linerlocks have been gratious enough to do.
Smooth action, solid lockup, an elegantly sturdy/rugged folder that I have no doubt will serve me for years to come. Do I like it?

You bet I do, one of the nicest folders I own.
