man I love this knife I have a user somewhere in the house haven't seen it in a while. and a safe queen they are both the old style with the bolsters. I don't know why but this knife never developed blade play and the pivot is not adjustable. this knife is also very beautiful and comfortable also these were the first spydercos I ever bought anyone else know why these knives are a so rock solid. compared to other pinned knives including other spydercos?

ps just looking at my knives for a couple of weeks since I buy my knives with little side job money and at work yesterday a 1 inch metal rod went all the way through my left hand then the hydralic door atached to it smashed my hand no broken bones but it sure does hurt even after surgery and to top it off I shattered the bone on my right index finger 3 weeke ago people say get a new job (I work on heavy equipment CAT but I really enjoy my job and it pays for my house, and my wife to stay home with my four kids the youngest has down syndrome and my union insurance helps alot. anyway my pain meds are kicking in so mabye I can sleep now goodbye.

Sorry to hear about your injuries. Heal up soon!

The original big Persian is a great knife. The only part I don't like is the increase in sharing effort due to the large upsweep. It's a timeless beauty.

Thanks I hope it heals quicker than the time line they gave me 6 months overtime in summer is what pays the bills in winter I guess the pin was so large 1 inch diameter that it spread the bones apart but luckly no broken bones.
I think the persian is probably spydercos prittiest knife but I do love the way the ATR looks.

someone posted on another thread that the persian had tighter tolerences is this true?

I can't find the original post where Ed talked about it but I do recall him talking about how he wanted them to be tighter when new so they would wear in with use, staying tighter and lasting longer barring abuse. Perhaps someone else can figure out where it is posted and in what thread in which forum.

I know my old ones were pretty tight. Don't know about the newer ones though.

Joe
