Spyderco P'Kal -- discontinued?

Is it true the Spyderco P'Kal has been discontinued and they will not be making any more?

On the one hand, it would not surprise me. Most collaboration models stay in the lineup for 3 years or less, it's rare when one makes it to 5 years, and the P'kal has been out for over 6. On the other, Spyderco only officially announced that a model has been discontinued once a year, in late November or early December and the P'kal was not on the most recent list, so it has not "officially" been dropped. Appearance of a knife on the website of one particular "deep discount" seller is normally a very good "unofficial" sign a model will be on the next list but, AFAIK, the P'kal has not appeared on that website. So, it comes down to how much you trust your source.

Could it possibly be a case of someone confusing Pukko, which has recently shown up on the site of the "closeouts" specialist I noted earlier, with P'kal?

It's just extremely hard to find. I'll be picking one up in the next few months, assuming a new batch makes it to market.

The P'Kal has not been discontinued.

Thank you for that info. At least a couple of internet knife sales sites claim that the Spyderco P'Kal has been discontinued. I'm glad they are mistaken.

I ordered a Pikal about three months ago and it would certainly be frustrating for me if Spyderco took it off the market. It looks like a profoundly sophisticated & elegant pocket folder.

Very glad to hear this. I've been trying to find one for quite some time now and was getting worried.

Sorry to dig this up from the depths, what kind of wait is everyone seeing with the p'kal and the trainer?
