i never owned a karambit style knife but im infactuated with blades for martial arts or selfdefense. i remember seeing a karambit knife by spyderco way back but never really knew if it was a profitable selling knife? is that why they dont have any offerings in this unique blade shape design ? i wish they would come out with one with a double edge fixed bladed version i would definetly buy one. im new to the spyderco scene and just began collecting spyderco knives but i love it. if anyone feels the same maybe they will hear me and consider designing one.

Buy yourself a Civilian or a SpyderHawk ;)

you guys are helpful lol thanks for the recommendations but i jus want the ring and double edge of a real karambit but thanks though. i wish they came out with a knife jus like the street beat but jus karambit styling that would be awesome.

If Spyderco were to make second run of the karambit, you could count me in for at least 3 of them. I agree that the ring does allow for added versitility, and it's just not a true karambit without one. I will say that the Civilian and Spyderhawk are excellent knives. I love the serrated variety and have proven useful is my pitiful landscaping endeavors. Give the H1 steel in serrated edge a shot, you will not be disappointed. ;)

It wasn't a big seller. Its ergos were poor, it was very heavy, and needed substantial modification to be useful as a self-defense knife or even as a regular Spyderco.

Most kerambits are not double-edged, and Spyderco's fell in line with this.

The Spyderco Kerambit was a limited production knife produced for a distributor in Japan. AFAIK it was never intended for regular production. If you order 500 or 1,000 I'm sure Spyderco could accommodate you. :D

I really liked the Karambit. I wouldn't mind a Karambit 2 with slightly improved ergos, perhaps a slightly less curved profile to accomodate thrusting and maybe even an Emerson Wave device. The original Karambit is like made for waving. Put a zip tie on that thing and it's the quickest, safest waved knife you'll ever own. A lot of fun...
