i think it would be really cool if they made plugs
i have 1/2 gauges and i would love to stuff some
with the spyder on them what do yall think?

Just when I thought that I had heard or seen everything, this thread comes along!!

That would be awesome to have some Spydie jewelry. I call them "earrings" instead of plugs or tunnels so people know wth I'm talking about...my ears are 1/2 inch as well, have been for years

PS-I'm probably one of the only other people on here with gauged ears, and even I didn't know what to make of the title at first. The jewelry was the first thing I thought of but I didn't expect that to be what you're talking about.

I have a friend who used to have those and now his ears look like... well this is a family forum. He also has to sit down to pee because of his interesting piercings. He could probably pay a lot of money and have his holes cut open, skin cut off, and everything sewn back together and look somewhat normal again. Also you could probably get someone to laser engrave a spider on the head of a bolt. Everyone has different tastes so do what you like and good luck with everything.

He probably stretched them improperly or didn't care for them afterwards...the fact that he has genital piercings (which even as someone with gauged ears, I cannot understand or get behind) suggests he might not be the most health-conscious person ;)

I've had friends with stretched earlobes bigger than mine who let them close, and they do shrink back up over time--these people had done it properly and cared for them though. The most common problem for improper piercing practices are abscesses under the skin that can cause gross looking deformations  that will last even after the piercing is gone. I believe the only way to get rid of a bad abscess is to have it surgically removed. Good thing i took care of my lobes, even in the recklessness of my youth :o

He rides and races bicycles and always seemed health conscious. He had his ears pretty big maybe 3/4 of an inch if I were to guess. He took them out probably 5 years ago and still has a hole a pencil would fit in and looks more like hamburger than an ear lobe. I don't know if he still has the urinating problem but a couple years after he took that out he said he basically had a stream that went in 3 directions. I guess most people do things in their youth they end up regretting later in life but it usually ends up a lesson learned the hard way.

Well, Spyderco did actually make a piece of funtional jewelry few years ago. Their necklace knife was quite a nice little knife, with titanium handles and an ATS-34 blade. Came with a 20" sterling chain in a nice velvet gift box. I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of them before they all disappeared off the shelves - I suspect if they were ever to produce something like that again it would sell for quite a bit more than the $49.95 the original necklace knife went for.

If you're serious about getting a pair of plugs like this, you could contact Santa Fe Stoneworks and see if they are willing to custom make them for you. They use those little silver Spyderco bugs and work with several different types of stone so I'm sure they would be capable of making them.

I'm sure Sal Glesser would be really happy with his trademarked logo being used without permission for such purposes.

Free advertising as long as its a one of a kind thing that was commissioned. I doubt he cares when people get Spyderco tattoos either. Sal seems like a pretty laid back and understanding guy.

He could also ask for Sal's permission to use the logo. But this is just speculation since I don't know if the OP really wants to get a pair of plugs with Spyders, or is simply saying he thinks it's a neat idea.
