You could try WD-40 and a rag, but it may be best if you embrace the reality that your coating is going to show wear marks if you use it. This is just a fact of life. Many of us like the look of a well-worn PM2, as it demonstrates that the guy who owns it has really been using it to its fullest. I understand how you want to keep it pristine, but there is no way to avoid the marks on the blade. Rock on.

I personally love the look of a well worn in knife also, but the thing is i was only made 3 slices through a paper cup.

try the WD40 let it soak in over night, and then wipe with a clean rag,if the stains are still on the blade! probably going to stay there.

On my DLC PM2 I used a pencil eraser to get rid of the marks. DLC is a lot tougher than people think. Most of the scuffs on my blade came right off and then I used burt's bees to rejuvenate the look of the DLC by smearing it on there and wiping off the excess.

In which case the marks are almost certainly just material from the cup that stuck to the blade. Paper cups tend to be waxed, and wax will leave traces of itself on a blade. Simplest "fix" would be just to let it wear off.

Not a PM2, but you get the idea. The Spydie coating is pretty durable, whereas the teflon on Cold Steel falls off if you look at it.

I like the look of a well-worn 1911 too. It tells me that the guy has probably actually shot the thing, and may know what he's doing.

Love the way that looks. As an aside, CS is using DLC now too.

Isopropyl Alcohol USP, 70%
Goo Gone
Flitz Metal Polish

Just a warning: I used alcohol on my PM2, as well as strong dish soap before the pencil eraser trick. They both worked, but made the DLC fade to a lighter color. The pencil eraser did not do this. YMMV and you can always add some chapstick to the DLC and wipe off excess to bring back the deep black color.

Use it.
I was just like you until I bought a knife form a BFer that was used, not abused, for eight years, and it turned into my favorite folder. Why? Because I was not hesitant to use it.
