Sup guys !

TL;DR = do all spyderco paramilitary 2 come with a very agressif g10 texture? like very coarse and the sound of the compression lock is it the same for all of your PM2?

1 years ago i bought a knife from amazon (third party seller) name is outfitter country CA

when i did this purchase i didn't know spyderco was so counterfeit.. (i was new to knife world)

i did something stupide, bought the knife and AFTER i checked on youtube for 'fake' and i found a lot of video about that...

tried to cancel my order but the guys just said 'We have looked into your order and it has already been processed and shipped'

when i got my knife i watch a lot of fake video on youtube...but the knife seems real ! and the guys from outfitter charge a 15% fee when u return something + u need to pay the shipping back (ofc) so if i did return the knife it would cost like

20$ shipping canada to USA and 22$ fee (42$ ) i decide to keep it because it look so real..

even after all of those video this knife was not authentic because on video the texture looks 'different' and the compression lock sound too

last week i decide to buy a pm2 from WARRIOR&WONDERS

both of my pm2 are camo handle but one is black coated and the other is satin

from W&W= very coarse handle, same compression lock sound like real pm2 from youtube, color handle look better too and when i push into the compression lock the blade dropped by itself very easly (no bladeplay what so ever)

from amazon OUTFITTER COUNTRY = texture is very smooth..not coarse, compression lock sound is weird (doesn't sound like other pm2 on youtube) and the color looks not as good, compression lock is OK but not as smooth as my new pm2

pm2 from Outfitter country CA have skeletonized liners and every little thing you can see on youtube fake video...like its the best fake ever seen on youtube..?
different handle and lock sound but the creation date is barely the same (GO for satin from amazon =july 2015) and (JO for coated blade from W&W = october 2015)

so what do you think? here so photo (the pivot screws are from spyderco directly...i did something stupid with old one and spyderco sent me remplacement) but they where exactly like the real

tell me if yours have really coarse texture, because IMO i found the best spyderco pm2 fake (never seen something like this on youtube )

thanks !

The PM2 in the pictures appears to be real to me. Usually the fakes have a sharp edge on the compression lock and it's not all rounded. On the box, does the barcode touch the numbers or does it have a space?

And to answer your question, yes spyderco had a batch of coarse G10 that they used on knives temporarily. I'm not sure if it was on the digicam also, but for sure it was on the black G10 models.

Looks real to me the swoop where your finger disengages the lock looks real most fakes have a round half moon shape not the swoop like that one

Thanks for the reply guys !

the barcode touch the number on the boxe but i dont think

its weird for the texture because both of my pm2 are 2015 so they should have the same g10 texture..i think xD

+ the compression lock sound not matching any real pm2 ive seen on youtube or with my new real pm2

maybe i will send it to spyderco..maybe a perfect fake or just a lemon

if someone else have opinion about it feel free to reply ! maybe you guys are right and spyderco have 2 type of texture

G10 will naturally smooth over time as you carry and use it. So if you have had the first PM2 for a year, it should feel smoother than a brand new one. Also I have owned several different PM2s and the smoothness of opening and of depressing the compression lock has varied greatly between them (some butter smooth, some pretty stiff). I'm not saying yours is 100% real, but the differences you mention could have reasonable explanations. If you want to be sure you could send it in to Spyderco.

The batch of coarser G10 PM2s were released this past Spring and were only the black G10 models, not the digicam.

Looks real to me. Here are some pictures of mine which you can compare to

A video slowly opening the knife to hear the compression lock (brand new)

And a video of me flicking the knife open

Hope these help. Every knife is different, so hopefully you figure it out!

Life is like a box of knives, you never know which ones going to be off-center.

I've dealt with Outfitter Country a few times and have not any problems. I'm sure that the pm2 I got from them is the real thing.

I bought few Spyderco knives from Outffiters Country and can say only positive things. And your PM2 is real.

thank you every one for the reply !

you guys must be right...its too perfect to be a fake one.. maybe one day i will send it to spyderco just to be sure

i was a little confused because of the g10 texture both of the knives are made in the same years

if that's a fake then they have gotten as good as the factory...

Just inspect the grinding job if its perfectly done it's China if its uneven it's made in the USA

That's very funny. I got mine directly from spyderco, and the blade is absolutely perfect. I can confirm its real, and made in the U.S. I think this is a little but too general because fakes often aren't perfect when it comes to the blade.

Man I dunno...it looks real to me but if it's fake it's a damn good one.

another good way to check is take one USA made knife like benchmade or Kershaw's pocket clip screws which is US 2-56. Try screwing onto the Para2. It should also fit since Spyderco also tap theirs 2-56. The fakes tap them metric M2.5 which is larger in diameter so if your 2-56 screw drop right in...fake

Looks real to me. Hard to tell if the jimping is angled backwards in the pictures but the G10 around the lock disengagement is smooth as it should be.

Never tried this but it sounds iffy to me....you sure about this?
