I've read and heard other owners talk about how the blade swings freely when the lock is compressed. Mine did that too when the pivot was on the looser side but the blade had a little side to side play so I tightened up the pivot to eliminate the play. It also eliminated the free swinging. Are other owners here experiencing the same thing or are you having both. Also, my blade is slightly off center when it is tighter.

I can only speak for myself, but I have the same "issue." I enjoy having no blade play so I tightened the pivot which prevents the blade from just falling down. I can swing it down easy enough, but it wont drop. Also, I find that the blade gets more centered as the pivot is tightened. Its perfectly centered right now. When I loosen the pivot, I is slightly off center.

It was just an issue with the bushing system. Spyderco did it great, but not quite perfect so you'll get a bit of play if you want it to move freely like that.

On mine I find that I can have the pivot loose enough to let it swing freely, and the blade be centered when closed, you just have to keep slightly adjusting either side till its where you want it. Currently mine is adjusted to where theres only just a hint of side to side play, but its loose enough to flick open/closed with ease. I find its better this way cause with the pivot too loose, the blade will bounce back open if you try and flick it closed.

I've owned 5 PM2s and counting. 2 of them including a heavily modded CPM-S30V version and also a blue M390 version have absolutely zero blade play in any direction and both swing freely. I can even wrench down on the pivot screws on the modded one and will still swing free. When I say "wrench down" I mean to the point of feeling as if the screws may strip. Also, the opening and closing of the modded one is flawless. I haven't touched the pivot screws on the M390 yet but they could be tightened a little more to fit my tastes.

The Para2 depends a lot on getting the pivot screws adjusted and then adjusting the stop pin screws. Both sides of both sets of screws can affect blade motion and play.

Mine is tightened down as far as it safely can be, perfectly centered & swings free when the lock is depressed. I like that thought.

I just got mine yesterday, but they aced mine. Just a plain blade/digi camo. Mine has zero blade play, Perfectly centered, and when in the open position, when I release the lock it doesn't swing freely yet. It's only a day old. All I have to do to get it to swing closed is a very small wrist action. I think it will swing freely in a week or so. But I am perfectly happy how it is now.
