First off, thanks for reading. I'm curious Which blade is worth the money. I really only buy knives through Amazon because it's easier and I get free 2 day shipping. I know about 98% of you will comment saying the pm2 but that's not what I want to know. On Amazon, the pm2 is about $125 and the manix 2 g10 is around $95. What I'm wondering, is if the changes in blade shape and the ethos between the two justify the $30 price difference. Thanks for reading

To me it is worth the difference but I much prefer the pm2 handle and blade shape to the manix. To a guy who prefers the Manix (and there are many who do) this would be a no brainer. As much as I love the pm2, I would say that if you have never handled either and don't know which you prefer then you might as well go with the Manix since its 25% cheaper. They are both excellent quality knives.

Personal preference...

Awesome response, really helpful. Except not at all. I disagree about personal preference. Both g10, both s30v. Is the pm2 worth the extra 30 because of the slight differences? Besides, the pm2 is constantly getting hype. I'm not saying it's a bad knife though. Besides, if it is personal preference is rather you explain your choice and why you think it's more bang for your buck. Saying personal preference is a pretty lazy answer.

Thank you for the insight. The compression lock intrigues me, but I have big hands and feel the manix 2 might fit better.

I definitely prefer the Manix2. Although I love the Compression Lock , the Ball Bearing Lock is awesome too. The blade shape and handle shape of the Manix2 are significantly more to my liking than that of the PM2.

As for using them, they are similar in size and shape. The PM2 is a bit lighter, and thinner. For that reason it makes a better EDC knife. The G10 Manix 2 is a bit heavier and takes up a little more pocket space. It is also a more solid feeling knife because of the weight. Of course there are a couple of lightweight versions of the Manix 2 that are significantly lighter than the PM2. If you have big hands you might even prefer the Manix 2 XL.

I have all 4 of these different models. I like the PM2 best for EDC and the Manix 2 for a work knife, but I do carry all 4 of these models in my EDC rotation.

I don't know why the Manix 2 sells for less. It seems to me to be a more complex knife to manufacture. It seems like a bargain to me, especially if you can find a used one.

I current have both in my possession and the PM2 will be going out the door next week. I have had several of both and while I like the handle on the PM2 the blade to handle ratio kills me. That coupled with how light the PM2 is (comparatively speaking) always makes me think I'm going to break it.

I like the FFG blade on both. I'd recommend the Manix 2 over the PM2 any day. The handle ergonomics and weight make it a great knife for me. You will end up with both, it happens to all of us.

I really don't think you can go wrong with either. Personally I like the Manix 2 but I have carried both and they are both terrific knives. As to your question if it's worth the extra $30 I'm not sure because the PM2's I have bought over the years I have got second hand for the difference. If I had to buy it new I would probably go with the Manix 2.

Just point at which one is made in USA
both, just buy them both :o

Unfortunately I'm paying for college tuition, dorming, cell phone bill, car insurance, has, clothes and food. I got paid overtime at my job so I have 100 dollars that I can spend on something frivolous.

Actually, personal preference is all that needs to be said. I could take the time to write 500 words saying why I think you should choose one over the other...but that isn't going to guarantee that you'd like it.
The two have also been compared numerous times already, and you've indicated that you know most people are going to say go with the PM2...you know the majority's answer, so what's the point in asking for detailed responses?

Buy them both, keep the one you like best.
