I'm getting the urges again guys :p, I need another knife and I am thinking about ordering one from graham or crocblades.

So just based on your personal experiences and or opinion which one is better to you, Police 3 PE or the BM 610 PE??

This is more of a want than a need so I'm afraid I can't help you guys by telling you what the knife will be for. Though I might use it for EDC... maybe :D

Anyway, thanks for your opinion!!

the rukus is huge...i mean a tank! i have the mini version and its big for my hand but damn do i love it! its actually in my pocket right now :) the pocket clip is kinda wimpy, i bent the hell outta mine so i took it off . not the ideal way to carry since it takes up a large portion of my pocket just floating around but i still love it.
never owned or held a police 3 but it looks solid and elegant to me. either would suit u just fine!

Yes both those knives are big but then again so are my hands.

I have a SS police Serrated but i would like the handle to be grippier which is another reason I chose the police 3 which has a g10 handle.

Thanks for your opinion, mate!

I love my 610 however its like sticking a sword in your pocket you will find yourself adjusting it all day. I normally don't Edc the 610 just because you can't open the thing in public without drawing alot of attention to yourself and not the good kind.

For me, nothing beats a nice Benchmade except a nice Benchmade with the Axis lock! As others have said, the Rukus is huge...... and it's not very small either. I like the S30V, but I haven't owned or used a knife with VG10.

The Rukus: When you hold it, it feels like a solid knife. WHen you open it, it's like silk on your woman's leg. When it's open, it might as well be a fixed blade!

A comparison pic or two: (the FB's are BM Nimravii, but you knew that)

When it's open, you might as well tig weld it that way....

The decision between the two would be relatively easy for me.

Since you don't really need it for EDC, I'd say the Rukus. You will not believe how easily that big blade opens and closes. It's not just a knife. It's an adventure.

But the Police would be a lot easier to carry. The steels are a wash.

For an end-of-the-world knife to stash in your bailout bag: the Rukus is what you'd want.

The full-size Rukii are too big to carry. So I took the clip off mine and made a leather sheath for it. It rides horizontally on my belt - on the right side of my belt buckle.

The sheath isn;t so pretty, but it isn;t so bad I won;t wear it. It holds the knife in nice and snug... lots of wet-formed tension.

Thanks alot guys...

I'll be getting the BM 610, actually I am ordering one as I am typing this.

Now to play the waiting game...

:D

Thanks again guys!

Congratulations.

While I'm a Spyderco kind of guy, I have recently started appreciating Benchmade designs more and more. The Rukus would have been my choice as well---the Axis lock is a real winner.

I like the look of the Police 3, but currently only have the old model Police, and I actually like the shape of the old model blade more.
I've got the large Rukus and I don't find it a burden to carry at all. It has to be one of the smoothest opening folders of all time. The Rukus is my only BM folder because ,for my tastes, most BM folders are too small. It's a shame because I think a lot of BM folders are very elegant ,nicely designed knives. I'm considering the Onslaught, as I think it has a blade about the same length as the Rukus, even though I don't think it matches the Rukus in design.

Thanks alot guys...

You got lucky.
The 610 is 'discontinued'

Grats, its a great knife, I enjoy it alot.

I own them both. They are not really comparable, except perhaps in length.
The Spyderco is thin and light, an excellent slicer and despite its length very comfortable to carry, you don't notice it's there. The blade is thin, the tip almost fragile. It comes with a wicked edge and is easy to keep sharp. For daily carry it's the better choice.

The Rukus is a beast. The blade is massive, saber ground, thick, the tip strong. The handle is massive too, thick liners, thick scales, well-shaped. This knife feels incredibly strong, and it's better looking too (but that's a matter of taste).
The Rukus deploys like all Axis-locked folders, so smooth it feels like there's no friction at all, whereas the Police needs a very firm flick to deploy, the blade is so light it has no momentum.

I hope I am making clear that there's very little to choose between them, unless your purpose is already very clear. There's not much in common between these two. In town and at work, I carry the Police way more often. Outdoors and in spare time, the Rukus.

They are both great folders, you can't go wrong. Your choice should depend on what you plan to use it for. Good luck choosing... or do like I did, get both! :D

Who still has them in stock (Rukus)?

I was lucky enough to pick one up about 6 weeks ago from another forum member - man it is the stuff!

It rides nice in the pocket.

I baught a Rukus last year... And another one in march just because they are now discontinued !!! Another bad idea from Benchmade after the end of the model 42 !!!!!!!
