just got a spyderco police 3. first impressions was great, the more i play with it the more i like it. i have a spyderco stainless police the feel is the same except for the g10 which gives it grip in the hand and durring carry, it has a four position carry system which is great for both right and left handed users it came out of the box scarry sharp, as far as the new blade profile it looks a lot less menacing so people wont be as scared about it. if you like the police model you have to get one you wont be disapointed.
 
I dont use my se g-10 as I should but I have other Spydies that I like a little

more since I bought my Police 3 a couple years ago.
 
I like the Police 3 a good deal as well, though the long 4 3/8" blade is a little unwieldy for the run of the mill EDC tasks that I do. But its thin profile makes it perhaps the most pocketable of the 4+ inch blades.
 
I take mine for a walk every day with the dog, got to watch out for those coyotes :p
 
I just received my used SS Police PE and loving it!

Needed a touch up, but got it hair shaving sharp within 15min using Sharpmaker and leather strops made by Mr2blue.
 
i bought a razor strop and use green roughe on it, it works great. i noticed that the police 3 is about quarter to half inch longer than my ss police.
 
The police and military are a class of their own. Gotta love the long goliath cutting edge packed in such light/slim packages. You may hate/dislike one or the other, but you gotta have one of these classics if you are a true spyderco fan
