Hi Mike. Does it say "Police" anywhere on it, too? And does it have the swedge at the blade tip?

I suppose it could be a very early Police Model, but are you sure it isn't a SS Endura? :) Sorry I had to ask, but consider I'm not too knowledgeable about older Spydies. Perhaps AUS-6 was more extensively used in the old days...

Hey, I was right!:)

Just got out a 2001 catalog and indeed you can tell the shape difference between the two at the butt end. The Endura has more of a "corner" while the Police is totally rounded. Also, I have always seen "POLICE" on the blades of both G-10 and SS models, and they don't have lanyard holes like all Enduras do. Plus the SS Police has the neat looking swedge which my G-10 model doesn't. :(

And of course, size: 3 and 3/4" for the Endura vs. 4 and 1/8" for the Police.

FYI, your SS Endura has the "old style FRN clip" length blade, vs. the newer metal clip Enduras having slightly longer blades. Same with the SS Delica.

I have a SS Delica on the way. Since I prefer the older FRN models to the newer ones, I should like the SS Delica. Maybe I'll get it customized...

There are police models with "POLICE MODEL" and even nothing at all on the blade (as well as the P.I.G. models of course), but by far the most common is just "POLICE". There was even a Tuffram coated aluminum model with a lanyard hole, but you don't see those around too often. :)
