Why didn't Spyderco stay with the traditional blade design of the Police when they came out with the G-10 model?

Agreed, Maybe if we whine enough Sal will make the C07G3 in a saber grind.

Edit: There are early G-10 police models with the saber grind.

And they were pretty much a flop on the market. The second try, with full flat grind, didn't fare much better. The real wonder is why there is a Police 3 at all.

I'd rather see the Endura/Delica offered with G10 scales again than have the Police model available. Spyderco, are you listening??

The Police model is one of my all time favorite Spyderco knives. But, that said, I dont edc one at all anymore. The tips on the orriginal models (including the early G10 models) was very fragile and every one I used for duty carry ended up with the tip blunted at some point. That may have been the reason Spyderco went with a full flat ground blade.

Same here. That's why I ordered a Calypso Sprint Run, the blade is similar.

Well, regardless of how many others have seen the light, i like the g10 police 3...& like it a lot better than previous versions. I admit, though, i probably carry my stretch most.

They need to do a dual nested liner FRN handle and bring the price down a bit.

That would require a new mold for the FRN, which usually runs between $30,000 and $50,000. They would have to sell a whole lot of knives to recoup that new tooling cost, especially at a lower price point. I doubt it would sell well enough with the Endura already established.

Well, its light weight, long, thin ffg blade, superior traction relative to its stainless predecessors and ease of EDC (due to its thinness) are the primary culprits. About the only downside I see to the Police 3 is the that the long blade and the Spydie hole's close placement to the pivot create a moment arm that reduces flickability. The back lock has something to do with this too.

Yeah, but there you get a small Spydie hole [though probably the same as the Police 3], no jimping and maybe "taller" profile in the pocket. I still want one though.

Can I has a Endura with G-10

I think that Mr. Sal wants to produce a G10 Endura in Powernoodle Blue. He just doesn't know it yet.
